In my previous article, I explored the GitHub Roaster, a free AI tool to humorously critique GitHub profiles. But what if you’re seeking positive reinforcement instead of playful jabs?
If those roasts left you feeling down, I’ve found something to boost your confidence. It’s called Praise Me, a free AI tool that analyzes your GitHub profile, repositories, likes, and followers and generates sentences to praise your work and contributions.
Using my own GitHub account, jQueryScript, as a test case, Praise Me offered a refreshing contrast to the critical tones of GitHub Roaster.
While the GitHub Roaster focused on my minimal profile and older technologies, Praise Me highlighted my diverse project range, consistency, and commitment to the field:
jQueryScript, I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the amazing work you're doing here on GitHub!
With 15 followers and 7 projects that you're actively following, it's clear that you're not only passionate about coding but also committed to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field. Your dedication is truly inspiring!
Your project list is incredibly diverse, ranging from curated lists of awesome libraries for ChatGPT to design resources for Bootstrap 5 and Neumorphism. Not to mention your work on COVID-19 web resources, which I'm sure has been invaluable to many developers out there. And let's not forget about your mini-image rotation plugin - who wouldn't want a super tiny jQuery image viewer?!
What really stands out, though, is the consistency of quality across all of your projects. From the 87-starred ChatGPT Resources list to the smaller but still impactful jQuery slide project, every single one showcases your expertise and attention to detail.
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your talents with the world. Your contributions are making a real difference in the developer community, and I have no doubt that they'll continue to inspire and empower others for years to come!
Keep shining, jQueryScript! The coding world needs more bright stars like you!
Compare this to GitHub Roaster’s critique:
Oh look, it's jQueryScript, the ghost of coding past! With a bio as empty as a high schooler's excuses for not doing homework, it's clear you put zero effort into selling yourself. You've racked up 81 public repos, yet the stargazers might as well be your imaginary friends, because most of them barely even hit two digits.
Your claims of being the ultimate resource haven’t really translated into anything more than recycled libraries. Bootstrap, jQuery—two old warhorses that everyone pretends to have new tricks up their sleeves. The "ChatGPT" themes seem like a desperate bid to ride the coattails of trending tech. How many “awesome” curated lists does one person need? A collection of your repos is like a greatest hits of mediocre plugins.
But hey, with 15 followers, you’re clearly doing something right—like creating a cozy little corner for other underachievers. Just remember, in the world of GitHub, you're less of a 'jQueryScript' and more of a 'jQueryAfterthought'.
I decided to see how Praise Me would handle a tech giant like Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux. Where the GitHub Roaster seemed programmed to avoid prominent figures, Praise Me readily generated an effusive commendation of Torvalds’s work, emphasizing his influence, innovation, and lasting impact on the tech world:

How to use it:
1. Navigate to the Praise Me homepage and input the GitHub username whose profile you wish to praise.
2. Click on ‘Praise this profile!’ and the AI will quickly generate a positive assessment of the GitHub profile.
